Hi All
Just thought i would post about something I saw on TV the other night on a current affair program. Seeing as I am from Australia I dont know if this treatment has been mentioned overseas or not. I think the product was called EBC or ECB 43 and it is a new treatment for canine cancer that is under trial at the moment. It is directly injected into the tumor and reported to be effective in reducing the tumor almost overnight. ![]() They interviewed several dog owners that had received the treatment, via their vet, and apparently their dogs are cured of cancer. ![]() That is about all I have heard about it and thought I would let you let you all know, hopefully it is a real breakthrough in the fight agains canine cancer. |

I'm A Pimpin Turtle...: First cancer drug from the Australian rainforest to enter human clinical trials (As seen on A Current Affair)
The above is a link for you to read about the very promising new drug EBC 46 which destroyed many sarcomas and melanomas in dogs. Wonderful news!! Thanks Debbie! Blessings, Joanne & Shadow |

This is great news. I live in the US and I have heard nothing about this. This could be a major break through for modern medicine. If it is possible to cure cancer in dogs, then I can imagine it would be a matter of time before the same could be done in humans. This is huge, I am surprised that I have heard nothing about it here in the US. I am very interested in learning more about this though. I will have to start digging on it. Thank you for sharing this information.

While this drug seems to be a cure for many dogs, as far as I can tell it is not yet available in the US. I contacted the company that produces it and was given the following response....
"In regard to treatment of animals with EBC-46, we are currently focusing on a formal clinical research program which, when finalised, will allow us to make the drug available for treatment to a wider patient group. We are making every effort to complete this process as swiftly as possible. As soon as EBC-46 is more broadly available notification will be placed on the QBiotics website. Please note that all enquiries in regard to treatment of animals with EBC-46 must be made through your veterinarian and that we are unable to respond to requests or questions from individual owners." I have asked my vet to email the company as well but I don't think she has yet. At this point, I would fly my Abby to Australia if I could find the money and they could help her. I pray everyday that somehow this drug will become available to her and the thousands of other animals it could potentially save. |
