The one thing I wish I'd done differently since my dog's cancer diagnosis in July would have been to keep a file of all his medical records.

We have since consulted and/or worked with ten different veterinarians, including surgeons and cancer specialists. They all want the most complete, up-to-date paperwork, and at this point, that's asking a lot!

What I'd do from the start is to ask for copies of everything - bloodwork, ultrasound results, copies of x-rays when possible, etc. etc. and keep it a file or binder for reference.

As it is now, the dog's got files all over New Jersey and half of Pennsylvania. I would have kept better track of things if I'd known what a long battle this was going to be.
