Hamlet was at Penn yesterday for his weekly chemo. He received one dose of cytoxan while there and we were sent home with the remaining dosages to administer at home. They didn't run a liver panel this week but his blood counts were all ok - some a little low but only marginally. He's maintaining his weight so I'll be able to start exercising him again (I held off fearing that he'd lose the weight we're trying to put on). Hamlet's been doing well although he had two vomitting incidents last week. Both times, however, I think were more related to him gulping down his med-filled pill pockets (both dogs think they're treats) than anything chemo or lymphoma related. Both times, he immediately wanted his meal and he didn't show any signs of nausea. Nonetheless, I'll be keeping an eye on him. And, the onc sent me home with Prilosec (in addition to the Pepcid) just in case it is something clinical; we'll re-evaluate next week whether to continue.
And, yesterday was the first time that Rufus didn't have any accidents in the house while he was left with free access all day alone. I think I may have finally found a combination for his success on those mornings Hamlet goes to hospital. Michelle, Rufus & Hamlet (dx 01/29/10 tx 02/01/10) |
