Question Is it a coincidence or something else??

Our 7 year old Golden Retriever Ranger was diagnosed with Lymphoma 4 weeks ago, just yesterday we found out that my front neighbor's Sharpei was diagnosed with Lymphoma. She is only 5. My neighbor two houses down from me had a Pit-bull that died of Lymphoma last year. Is this a coincidence?? I'm considering getting our water checked, because what are the chances of this happening?? I'm starting to freak myself out!!! We live in South Florida and I've never heard anyone having a water problem.

Goodness, this does sound rather ominous for 3 dogs within the same area getting lymphoma. It is probably the best idea for you to give Ranger filtered water anyway because of all the chemicals in tap water. We have a "Brita filter" and that is all we have ever given our pups.

Could it even be "environmental?" Are any people getting cancer in your area that you know of?

Terrible disease!!

Good luck and let us know what you discover.

Hugs to Ranger.

Blessings,
Joanne & Shadow

Use only filtered water for your recovering dog! My dog was half SharPei and half Pit and the vet said he had never had either breed with Lymphoma and was totally stumped that a half and half with those 2 breeds got Lymphoma. It is very common in Goldens, bulldogs, Chows and the like but not SharPeis.

I'm wondering if it was the food-we fed Dante only Alpo in the can, he wouldnt even eat dry food (unless it was the cat's..lol). We never did any flea treatments as he never had the problem, so that wasn't it.

Find out if your neoghbor's animals have been vaccinated in the last 3 months or so. This seems to be the biggest culprit according to our holistic vet.

I just called to get my water checked and they also recommended that I give our dogs filtered water. It's amazing that everything we eat and drink is just loaded with chemicals and pesticides. We have not vaccinated our pets in years. We had even stopped giving him the heartworm meds!

I guess I'll never know how and why Ranger got this terrible disease.

Thanks for the advise!!
