Peggy was diagnosed with a lemon size liver tumor on Dec. 8. She was given only 1 to 6 months to live. They expect her liver to fail! She is acting fine. They do not think that it has spread. Tell me liver surgery is very hard to recover from for dogs and will not give her any more time if it has spread at all. Have seen a holistic vet and have her on suppliments and new diet. Any experience with these liver tumors? Please help.

I do not know anything about liver cancer in dogs. What I do know about is the fact that this is the best possible place you could come to talk about your furry baby.
Everyone here is facing similiar problems. We share your concerns and fears. We know what it is to stare down this awful villian, cancer. We will be here for you and your darling every step of the way. We will give you both feedback and support. We will offer suggestions when you ask and prayers when you need them. You and you baby are in the best place you could be at this challenging time of your life. I am all for holistic; it has worked out so well for my girl. The other thing you can offer, and it's so important, is love and a positive attitude. Take up the good fight, we are here with you. Madchen's Mom, Jackie |

Dear Friend,
So sorry to hear about liver cancer in your beloved Peggy. I don't know about this type of cancer but this is the best place to come and share and learn. Everyone understands what you are feeling right now. We did not have an holisitc vet helping us with Benny but we did have a wonderful friend who had studied under a Chinese Herbalist after losing her beloved Golden Retriever to lymphoma back in 2002 and she helped us with nutrition and even sent free supplements. Her goal....to fund raise for cancer in dogs and humans so that there will one day be a cure. She was 'Our Angel." Without her I don't know what we would have done. Since you have access to an holisitc vet that is wonderful. He/ she will know what supplements will help Peggy to strengthen her immune system and the types of food which best fight cancer. Have hope, stay with a positive attitude and love her more than you ever have. Many here, including myself were and have been given many more months with our precious fur pals than first predicted. My prayers go out to you and Peggy. This is the BEST place you could come for help, comfort, information and just a sense of not being alone with this awful disease. Blessings, Joanne & Puppy Shadow |
