Madchen has had a really good couple of days. Her appetite has picked up and she seems to be perkier.
I made her some chicken mix which she seems to really enjoy. She still won't eat it totally raw. She likes her "burgers" seared on both sides. I use a little olive oil in a small egg pan and then sear the "patties" in it. A little on both sides and then she eats it like it was the last thing I was ever going to give her. I'm still doing the meat with the fruit/veggie mix recipe the holistic vet gave us and supplements. I am so-o-o glad that her only cancer drug is piroxicam. She seems to have no clue that she is a sick girl and my husband continues in the belief that she was misdiagnosed. I know what I saw in the ultrasounds; my girl had a very large Transitional Cell Tumor in her bladder. Now she is doing well and I'm grateful for this extra time. Our original dates were 3 to 8 months. We're on our way to the end of the third month and my girl is happy. Blessed be the Lord whose mercy know no bonds. Jackie |

Hi Jackie,
Im so pleased to hear that all is okay and yes i also believe that keeping a positive attitue really helps, Madchen obviousley picks up on the vibes. proxicam does really help! I like you saw the x-rays of our billys bladder and it is scarey, but hopefully the tumours have slowed down, so enjoy every moment and i hope you have a wonder xmas spoiling the little princess... Thats so awesome that your Madchen is doing so well. And the thing about the vet giving us dates and weeks the dog has to live is, unlike human patients who have this "doctor timeline", dogs dont have a clue they are only supposed to live 4-8 weeks. Dante was given 4-8 weeks from date of diagnosis (August 21) and he finished week 16 and still feels well. Granted he is a lumpy boy-6 large lymph nodes and two smaller ones-but he is still enjoying his walk every day, eating like a piggy, and happy to be with us and tormenting the cats.
Enjoy Madchens time of feeling well-its hard not to think of what will be but if we stay in the moment, like dogs do, we can be happy with our furry friends and have a good time with them. Again I am so happy for you. |
