Poor puppy - we had planned to take TJ to the vet this a.m. to have him put to sleep, however, he got so sick so fast, we took him to an emergency clinic yesterday evening to stop his suffering. It was just so awful. We had waited some so my boys could come over and say goodbye and it was a mistake to wait. The 2 hours before we got him to the clinic were horrendous. To think Friday he was as he had been for weeks begging for my hotdog to the state we were in less than 48 hours later. It just seemed so unfair that this dog who had never done anything but love us - and everyone; not an aggressive bone in his body; not one unpleasant trait would have such a hard ending. I prayed he would go to sleep.... Bless his heart - he is not in pain anymore, is with his sister "Quark" who went on before him, has his eyesight again and someday he will be wagging his whole rearend when he sees us again. I miss him so much.

Hi Trudie
So sorry to hear about TJ, it is hard to work out isnt it when one day they appear to be fine and then bang, it is a rapid run downhill. We were like that with Missy and in a way it makes it even harder to accept. Thoughts and prayers are with you at this terrible time. Keep thinking of the wonderful times you had with TJ. |

Dear Trudie, I am so sorry for the loss of TJ. It is very hard to watch your fury friend suffer. Dasha was fine except the leg had cancer but then the seizures came and she went down hill fast. It seems that when they get to that point its in a very short time which does hurt even more. TJ is no longer suffering and in pain, running free with all our other fur babies. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim

My Dear Trudie,
I am so sorry for your loss and that TJ suffered in the end which surely broke your heart even more. It is a great thing that we have emergency clinics for our beloved pets if they have need and that they are put out of their pain even though it breaks your heart. Yes, indeed they can be playing one moment and the next be in great distress. Such is the awful truth of "Cancer." Dogs live to please us and they worry about us and want to do everything they can to improve our dispositions and make us happy. They do not deserve such an illness as cancer and such a painful end. They complete us in every way and without them in our lives, our hearts sink to the deepest depths for a very long time. We all understand what you are feeling right now and no words can take away your pain. God Bless you and your family. My prayers go out to you at this sorrowful time. Blessings, Joanne |

so so sorry to hear about tj my old girl was the same she was very lively untill the night before and sh just refused to eat or drink and was very unhappy. it broke my heart to see her in such a state as im sure it has broken yours. they dont deserve to suffer like that. she went saturday and every day is a struggle without her. i have another dog now that has helped me no end with the grieving. he will never be like my old girl but he has already claimed a space in my heart. it is so hard and even looking at foto's makes me well up. i wish you all the very best for getting thro this time

Trudie,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to say good-bye and even harder to get over. TJ is no longer suffering and in pain, take comfort in that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very sad time. In time your pain will ease and you will be able to look back at all the beauitful memories T.J. gave you. Thinking of you ![]() ~ Robyn ~ |

Benny had Mast Cell Tumours as well. Terribly ugly disease! It ruined his beautiful little body.
So sorry that two of your dogs have MCT. Blessings, Joanne Last edited by Benpaws; 06-07-2009 at 08:45 AM. |
