Default Black Salve

Has anyone used Black Salve on their dog or cat? I have just started and am wondering what experiences others may have had with this treatment.

Hi there. I have never heard of "Black Salve" so I looked it up on the internet. I was interested as my dog has had skin conditions. This is a website that has alarming information about that product: Don't Use Corrosive Cancer Salves (Escharotics) I don't think I would use it but, if you do, let us know how it works out. Good luck, Kate

The Whole Dog Journal, a holistic nutrition and training newsletter has had several articles on black salves. They sound a bit scary but effective, I would definately read up on it before using them. They have also run an interesting article about the anti-cancer properties of unrefined virgin coconut oil. If you go to their website you can search back articles for information.
I highly recommend this natural dog care magazine. They accept no advertising. They are long time proponents of the BARF diet and positive training.

Whole Dog Journal is the monthly guide to natural dog care and training.

There are some very convincing salves, pastes, poultices, and plasters which when added to tumors burn them away. Zinc oxide and several other herbs are common ingredients. Some claim that corrosives ("black salves") can "draw out" the cancer. Recently, scientists have isolated chemicals that can destroy particular skin cancers. But except for these, corrosive substances are useless against cancer and cannot be legally promoted for that purpose in the U.S.

I never used the black salve on Benny's Mast Cell Tumours but used Yunnan Baiyou at the recommendation of my friend who was helping us with the supplements and herbs we used during Benny's cancer. The Yunnan Baiyou powder helped to heal the tumours when they were bleeding. He also took the Yunnan Baiyou capsules.

The Black Salve scared me when I read up on it.

Good luck.
