    Hi Joanne
How is it going? Shadow sure is one handsome boy.. Noticed some of your posts seemed pretty early, thought you might be up with Shadow. I know you are enjoying every minute. Yes still some sad reminders of Benny however Shadow will help you through them. Happy belated Birthday and you sure don't look 66.

    Happy Mother's Day Dear Kerri,
I know you will be thinking of Goobie and missing him very much. Funny how the tears come and go and I am beginning to have a few smiling moments when I think of Benny. He was such a happy dog and mischievous like your Goobie. I hope you are enjoying a lovely Mother's Day with your family.
    God Bless You.
I visit the "candle site" every day and light some candles. It is so comforting. It helps the "grieving process" for me. Thank you again for sharing it with everyone.

    Love,
    Joanne

    Dear Kerri,
Thank you so much for remembering that today marks the 4th week without our Benny. I lit two candles at 12:15 pm and Jim and I said a prayer, hugged each other and then I sat down to stitch and listen to some music and just rememeber what a marvelous little companion he was.
    Thank you again dear friend.

    Hugs, Joanne

Thanks so much Kerri. Today was a tough one with Benny only gone for one week. I just loved the candle site and sent it to many of my friends who have lost family and pets. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are indeed a wonderful and compassionate member in this forum. I hope today was a good day for you. I saw the candle you lit for Goobie. I LOVE THAT NAME!
Have a blessed Easter and I'll keep connecting with this amazing group of friends.
No, Isabella will not be here for Easter but the kids have planned a surprise party at a favourite Inn for Jim next Saturday. He will be 70 years young and he so wanted Benny to live until his 70th birthday. They were companions on evening walks and Jim has cried and is still crying his heart out. He is so tender! Love the guy even after almost 42 years of marriage. That's a good thing eh?!!!

    Love & Prayers,
    Joanne

    Hi my friend

Just thought I would check in and see how you are doing today? I'm glad you found comfort in the candle site, I do too. It just seems to have such a calming effect. Is Isabella coming for Easter? She will miss her friend not being there. She is such a lovely girl and I agree what a sweet face. Forgot to mention that i visited your Benny album, thanks for sharing. It looks like he enjoyed having his pictures taken. Know that I am thinking of you
    Take Care ((((((((((hugs))))))))))

    My Dear Kerri,
Thank you for your kind note to me today. Tomorrow will be one week since we lost our precious Benny and the tears still come. What a lovely thing to see....another black lab near your cottage which reminded you of a young Goobie. Yes, our dogs do send us messages after they go from our lives. We just have to be patient. God takes care of all his "creatures."
Have a lovely Easter with your family and thanks for your comfort and support.
Your friendship will continue to be important to me.

    Hugs Always,
    Joanne

    Hi Kerri,
Just checking in to see how things are going. Benny has a couple more tumours which are growing and he had a shot of a cortisone-based drug last Friday, but the tumour is still not shrinking as it should. We take each day at a time and this period is so difficult as you know, not knowing when Benny will tell us "it is time to let go." For now he continues to enjoy his food and his walks and rests quite comfortably listening to classical music while I work around the house or read or sit and do cross stitch. These moments are special as you know.
I hope your heart is hurting less. Love to hear from you anytime. If you would like to e-mail me, me e-mail address is: the-gal@cogeco.ca

    Hi My Dear Kerri,
Thank you for your note. I just read and responded to your post on Goobie and how much you are missing him and the story of the "furball" which I indeed think is a "sign" from Goobie, reminding you of those days when you "vacuumed his fur.
Thanks for asking about Benny. He has two more small tumours on his little side and the prednisone has been increased but they are not shrinking as well as we would like. He looks at us with those big brown, soulful, doggy eyes when we touch the lumps and sometimes he tries to find a comfortable position and is not running up an down the stairs as he once did. We can see he is slower, and I cry every day, but hide my tears from him.
We are just taking one day at a time and praying a lot!
God Bless you. There will be sad days ahead when you remember certain occasions with Goober, but they too shall pass. Dogs sure do make "imprints on our hearts" FOREVER!
    Hugs,Joanne

    Hi Joanne

Thanks for the message. It was a tough week-end and few days, many tears but got it back together today. Sure do miss my Goobie. Think I'll post a message under Coping with Loss and see how others are doing.
I thought it was funny when you said I write so well, after I read your messages I always think wish I could write like that.
How is Benny doing on the stronger dose of medicine? Keeping my fingers crossed

    Kerri
