Hi . My name is Jean and I have 4 rescue dogs so my knowledge of their background is limited.
Billy is my 13 year old golden coloured mix. He has nasal cancer but is doing ok at the moment on his tablets. Polly is like a Border Collie on stumps. We think she is a Border Collie/Jack Russel mix as she is like a little muscled up Collie. She is 7 years old and in good health except for a touch of arthritis. Emma is our little Cavalier, rescued(not by me) from a horrendous situation in a puppy farm, with the usual heart problems and a deformed foot(looks like she has been trodden on at some time in her poor life and had her foot deformed. She is 10 years old and does really well as she goes on walks over our local sandhills with the other dogs every day, running free. Benson is our last dog and he is 2 years old and a large Border Collie cross. As they go I won't get any more dogs as my husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and it is getting now a full time job to look after him. |

My Dear Jean,
I just read your post and realized that nobody has taken the time to reply so I will be the first. Everybody deserves a response. You sound like a wonderful, caring person and good for you adopting all these animals and giving them your love and support. We would have also adopted from the humane society but two of our sons were very allergic and the only breed which didn't cause any allergic reaction were schnauzers and Benny is our third and we love the breed. Unfortunately he has Mast Cell cancer and is only 6. We are doing our best to keep him healthy for as long as we can. So sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. I have a dear friend whom I met online and she has been struggling with the same thing with her husband for several years. It is a very sad disease as is cancer. God Bless you my friend and do take care of yourself while taking care of everyone else. My prayers go out to you and your puppies and your husband. Joanne (Benpaws) |

You are so fantastic. I just had to respond to you. So sorry about your husband. Alzheimer's is a terrible thing. With the love that you have in you God will be there to support you all the way, just remember to take care of yourself too. Rose (Riley)
