Wally is my 8 1/2 year old Lab/Retriever mix. He's the gentlest giant at 140 lbs. He's pure joy and I am heart broken that he has nasal carcenoma. Has anyone had an experience with this type of cancer? We just found out, after a number of delays in diagnosing it and I feel like someone has ripped my heart out. Taking him to L.I.Vet Specialists on Thursday to see if they can extend his life and the quality of it. I don't want him to be in any pain. If anyone has any suggestions or direct experiences, I would really appreciate it. Thank you and my best to all of you and your pet family members. Wally's Mom

Dear Friend,
Welcome. Everyone here knows exactly how you are feeling about the diagnosis you have just been given. Like Jeanette, our Benny had Mast Cell Tumour Cancer and passed away a year ago on April 2, 2009. You might try getting in touch with one of our members, Brian Riddle, whose dog Molly has nasal canine cancer which sounds like the same thing your Wally has. Molly is doing quite well on the diet and supplements which Brian has been advised to give her. My prayers go out to you and Wally. Blessings, Joanne & Shadow |

Wally's Mom,
I wrote you a note, because we are dealing with the same problem in regards to our mixed breed named Max. I may or may not have not sent you this note, due to my current emotional and mental state of the thought that we are going to loose our Max because of nasal cancer. We are also from L.I., Bethpage area. Please advise meif you received my previous note from about 5:30 p.m.(Sunday 03-21-2010). . . . .Thanks so very much...Frank & Pat |

My dog Molly has a Nasal Tumor, which I think would be the same thing. We were in touch with Robert McDowell Herbal in Austrailia and they put Molly on Maritime Pine Bark Extract [Supposed to be the strongest antitoxitant going] And that was in 2008 and Molly has been doing well.Another suggestion would be a Traditional Chinese Medicine Vet. They have a lot of knowledge about these things.I also give Molly 3 Excel Vitamins a day, which my said it will help.According to Robert McDowell the Nasal Tumors are the real nasties of tumors. They are pretty much impossible to get rid of,but with proper care, your pet can live years with it.
