FRIEND!! My best friend found a dog at a pet rescue in another part of the state, about 2 1/2 hours from me)that looks like he could be my Dante's twin. He is a 1 year old SharPei mix that needs me and I need him. I had to apply and wait for approval-they check your vet and another reference and make sure you have a fenced yard. They will neuter him next week and I will pick him up the following weekend, two weeks from today.
The funny thing is, I have a picture of a dog next to Dante's ashes and the picture says "Goodbye,Friend".And here I am, saying "Hello,Friend". TJ and Dante (in spirit)and soon to be,Friend |

TJ,
All the best to you and Friend. It's wonderful to hear that Dante found a way to make his presence known by sending you his "twin." I wish you many happy years with Friend. Michelle, Rufus & Hamlet (dx 01/29/10 tx 02/01/10) |

T.J.,
I just reiterate what the others have already said: "Yippee! Congratulations! Awesome news!! " This was MEANT TO BE and I can tell the "joy" in your voice. Right decision!! Dear Friend,
I think this is the week-end when your new best friend comes home? Dante will be smiling down on you and happy that you are filling your home and your life with a new companion, never forgetting the memorable years spent with him. You never replace an old friend because he/she is irreplaceable. You just fill an empty place and give a loving home to one who will so appreciate it in every way! Your life will have joy again and every moment will be rich with the companionship of another fur boy. Enjoy the next chapter of your life! Blessings, Joanne & Shadow The dogs in our lives, the dogs we come to love and who (we fervently believe) love us in return, offer more than fidelity, consolation, and companionship. They offer comedy, irony, wit, and a wealth of anecdotes, the "shaggy dog stories" and "stupid pet tricks" that are commonplace pleasures of life. They offer, if we are wise enough or simple enough to take it, a model for what it means to give your heart with little thought of return. Both powerfully imaginary and comfortingly real, dogs act as mirrors for our own beliefs about what would constitute a truly humane society. Perhaps it is not too late for them to teach us some new tricks. |
