Default Hemangiosarcoma - letting go

Hi All,

My beloved 9 year old rottie Max has hemangiosarcoma, he has had his spleen removed but unfortunately the cancer remained. The vet advised against any further treatment and I trusted his judgement. He has now been home for 6 weeks and in the last few days he is getting weaker, he is still eating and will go for a swim but I don't know if he is suffering. He has always hid any pain from me (unlike my other dog who lets me know if she has a bindie in her paw!!) Any advice would be appreciated on when to take the final step.

Default Wendy & Tanner

I am so sorry to hear about Max. My own sweet boy
Tanner also has this form of cancer but it is in his hip muscle and has not spread to the spleen yet. Only you will know when it is time to say goodby. I believe Max will let you know. My heart breaks for you and Max.

I am so sorry to hear about Max. Rotties hold a very special place in my heart. I lost one to oc. and she hid the pain from us too. In my case she had a seizure and would whimper in her sleep. It is a hard decision to make and I did feel guilty after it was done. I wondered if I did it too soon but my vet told us that better be a week early than a day late. I wish you all the very best and Max will be in my prayers, Jim.

Unhappy Max

My Dear Friend,

I am so saddened to hear about Max, another beautiful puppy with cancer. Love him with all that is in your heart and he will definitely let you know when:"It is time for him to turn that corner."

It has been 10 months today at this time that we lost our Benny to cancer and the ache is still there even though we made the right decision for Benny.

God Bless you and Max.

Blessings and Prayers,
Joanne
