Default Sandra, in memory of Turk

Hi, my name is Sandra. I lost my Great Dane, Turk, in August, 2008, from bone cancer. He was my greatest companion and best friend, as I am sure all of you can relate. Anyway, just prior to Turk's passing, my daughter moved home with her Great Dane, Maverick, who has been my angel (and grand-dog). Anyway, I wondered if there was a forum in which I could get advice regarding [u]prevention[u] of bone cancer or other cancers in dogs. I understand diet is important, and we are taking steps to change Maverick's diet, but I am also wondering if there are supplements he should take as preventatives rather than treatment. Turk had been on Flor-Essence (similar to Essiac), Omega 3's, probiotics, Vitamin C and Vitamin D (most of this advice I received from the health food store owners whom I deal with here in Kamloops, BC, who are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful with my health issues). I appreciate any input or advice anyone would be able to offer. I hope this forum is helpful to all of you who are fighting this horrible disease in your best friend. I find it very helpful in my healing.
