Thumbs up Re: Rusty

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the BEST PLACE for sharing your story and getting information and help and comfort and support.
I am so sorry to hear of Rusty's diagnosis but there is a ton of help here and please take the time to read through some of the posts and you might find something which helps you and Rusty at this time of distress.
We are all on this journey together with different and yet similar stories.
Our 6 year old schnauzer Benny is fighting the return of Mast Cell Tumour cancer on his right side. He is now on prednisone and the tumour is shrinking significantly. With supplements and good quality food and lots of love we treasure each moment we have with him.

God Bless you.

Thumbs up Thank You So Much!

Dear Jackie B.,
thank you so much for your very kind words to me. I was starting to think that perhaps I write too much and am not saying the right things. I just feel such sorrow and empathy for everyone who is in this forum. The commonality of our dog's illnesses have brought us together.
If I can help in ANY way to give comfort when needed or help in selecting supplements or foods which we are giving Benny then I think I have done something positive in my day.
Benny is my heart and after losing two other beloved schnauzers Wolfgang and Willie (not to cancer) I know the pain at the "end of the journey" and I dread that day coming. I am 65 and don't think I have enough time left to get another puppy.
Thank you for giving me faith in myself and that I do belong here.

In Friendship,
Joanne ( Benpaws)

Thumbs up No....Thank you Benpaws

Hi Joanne

I read Jackieb's reply last night and thought.. right on. I was thinking it just never thought to let you know. Whether it be replying to us coping with loss or offering suggestions regarding diet you always know what to say.
We need you and your words are very comforting and much appreciated!
So glad to hear what Benny's tumor is shrinking I believe the right diet is a positive in fighting cancer.

Jeff - what information did you receive. When you first receive the news it hurts, their are tears, and then the fighting spirit needs to kick in. Don't give up! Like Benpaws says read what other people have written ask questions here or to your vet. You are not alone.

Thumbs up Re: Thank You

My Dear Kerri,
Thank you so much for your very kind words to me. I do feel such heartache and empathy for everyone here who is suffering through the cancer their best friends have or the loss of their best friend. I sit and cry a lot and wish I could reach out and put my arms around everyone and share their pain and their grief, Poor Raymond who wrote such wonderful things in his journals about Larry lost his beloved friend yesterday and I KNOW how sad he must be.
Sometimes I feel guilty for spending much time down here reading all the posts but Benny knows I am not far away and that brings him great comfort. We know it is just a matter of time that Benny will be crossing over "Rainbow Bridge" and meeting up with all the animals who crossed before him.
Yesterday and today there were two very OFFENSIVE POSTS and I don't understand how people can go into this wonderful FORUM and ABUSE it with such distasteful posts. Ted gave us all a place to come and share and knew that people who own dogs are a rare "breed" themselves and when others take the time to print something ABUSIVE is just very sad to me. I did report them.
God Bless you for continuing to post and help others deal with what you yourself went through. Everybody here is wonderful and necessary.

In Friendship,
Joanne ( Benpaws)
