Lillybell, I have read very good things about K9 Immunity but have not tried it. I have been using a product call "Biopreparation" for dogs. I decided on this product as they had information about it's use with a dog having a Mast Cell tumor. Here is their link:
BioPreparation for Pets I would be interested in how folks are finding the K9 Immunity. Also, try waiora in the water. Someone told be to do that and I have been... don't know if it helps but it can't hurt. Use filtered water, 4 drops in the bowl. Waiora is used to detox. It is expensive but there are some similar products for less money... check it out. In terms of the food, some say the very best diet is a completely raw one. As far as I've been able to get with this is giving my dog Waldo a raw marrow bone. He absolutely loves it and it will keep him busy for hours. It really gives the jaw a workout and helps clean the teeth too. I get these bones from a butcher that only handles natural meats, no hormones, etc. They are very inexpensive. Just stay away from grain. You can cook up some chicken, put in a potato, an apple, some carrots... Perhaps serve it with some high grade kibble. Leave the grizzle in as I hear that it's got stuff good for the joints. If you want, you can just give your dog a raw chicken back or wing. If it's not cooked the bones are not an issue. There is lots of information about diets on the web. My sister-in-law uses only raw food with her dogs and they are very healthy. Good Luck, Kate |

When we discovered that our schnauzer Benny has a recurrence of Mast Cell Tumour, we opted to go with holistic treatments and the best foods we could find. Through Bark & Fitz we are able to order CANINE FORMULA MUFFINS filled with great antioxidants for fighting cancer in dogs. The muffins come frozen and Benny licks his bowl clean every night. We add other things as well and quite a few supplements which I have addressed in that "post" earlier today.
I live in Oakville, ON., CANADA and here is the link to the muffins I order: Canine Cancer: Nutrition and Diet Can be Key I hope this might help. I also have recipes for treats etc. Sincerely, Joanne (Benpaws) |

Joanne,
What a fantastic site. I've never heard of those muffins. So, you buy the dry ingredients and mix it with meat and things and THEN bake it? How many muffins do you feed the dog? Do you just put the muffin in the bowl, or do you break it up? Serve it warm? And, that is all you feed them? Thanks for the info, Kate |

Kate,
I order the frozen muffins which are already prepared and come in CHICKEN, SALMON or BEEF. I have not yet tried the beef variety. There are 24 frozen muffins and I give Benny one, broken up every evening. Sometimes I warm the muffin in the microwave or the oven. I also add steamed vegetables, preferably broccoli or other green ones and his supplements etc. You can also order the dry mix and add your own ingredients but I have not tried that. The muffins cost $52.00 and Benny only needs one a day. He is 28 pounds. You could also feed one every other day but they are so filled with good nutritional ingredients that one a day is good for Benny. Sometimes we give him one half in the morning and one half for his evening meal. so far so good. I have no idea if these could be sent to the UK Hotford. Yes, a lot of the supplements and foods we have to give our beloved dogs with cancer are expensive and I too am not rich. Many sites just want your money and are fraudulent but this one is not. Good luck with your dog. I know how difficult this is for us all.

Thanks for the info, I actually have a natural pharmacist friend that is looking into the k9 amunity info for me. I will let you know what he says.
He is a genius and I trust him. He also has bruno on a product called "AVE' it is fermente wheatgerm and it cuts off the food supply to tumors. It is a new product and he has actually had some good results with it. The company is AmericanBiosSience. Introducing Avé, the dietary supplement with AvemarTM, a uniquely beneficial natural compound. , 888-884-7770, my dog is 30#, so i give him 1/4 of the package. it is very expensive, but worth a try. |

kate,
I was told that the immune system cannot recognize the cancer cells, they disgusise themselves, so that is why the immune system cannot attack the cancer, the AVE is supposed to help the immune system recognize them and be able to attack them. I |

Lillybell, That is so interesting about the AVE~. My brother-in-law was taking that. He had liver cancer and they gave him 2 months to live. He lived 2 years. Two really good years. I had no idea one could use it with dogs. I think I remember the taste is icky... how would you get a dog to take it? Also, I really believe in the BioPreparataion. Go to their site. All these things are good. One could use them all, mix it up, change it around. We never know what the right thing for our dog is. It really sounds like you are on the right path to helping your dog. Also, all this good nutrition reminds us that we must do the same for ourselves. Our dogs are always teaching us. Oh yes, and I believe filtered water is a must. Good going!
