Default Am I doing the right thing.

Hi all

Well its been four weeks now since Missy left In those four weeks and the week before I have been obsessed about finding out information re the food that is best to feed the others.

I have learnt a lot and contacted a lot of sites that were recommended to me here, unfortunately living in Aus there arent a lot of places that deal with really good dog food, as in what i now know to be really good food.

I have been cooking up sweet potatoe, brown rice, carrotts, apples, a little bit of brocolli and mixing in fresh meat, either chicken or kangaroo mince and then feeding this to them, with several fish oil tablets mixed in. They eat it without any problems, but then they would eat anything.

I just wanted to check if these foods are the right ones to be feeding the furry ones, and if anyone has any more ideas of what I could or should add.

Thanks for all your help.

Thumbs up Food?

Dear Debbie,
Sounds as if you are on the right track for sure. I know how scary it is after we have lost a puppy to cancer and we want to do the right thing for any other pups we might have.
I am feeding the CANINE LIFE MUFFINS and also have the book: BARKER'S GRUB which is terrific and has the best recipes and is recommended by many holistic vets.
Here is the link and i am sure you could get it where you live even if you order in online: Amazon.com: Barker's Grub : Easy, Wholesome Home-Cooking for Dogs: Rudy Edalati: Books

Hope this helps. home cooked meals are the BEST. Venison is a leaner choice than beef and chicken and salmon are always good basics along with fresh green beans and carrot which you steam. Liverwurst is a favourites and the salmon oil pills are recommended for all pups. I will be giving Shadow 500 mg of Wild Salmon Oil capsules per day.

Hope this helps.
I will try and find homemade recipes which I used for Benny.

Good Luck.

((Hugs))
