Hello all, My dog Foxy has lymohoma, and we are definitely doing everything we can diet-wise to help her. She gets fresh meat (usually elk, wild fowl, organic chicken, or turkey), sardines, plus Wellness Core, a pure protein dry food. But she absolutely refuses to eat any type of veggie or fruit. Does anyone have any seggestions? Thank you!! Karen

Hi....My mom says you don't find dogs in the broccoli patch LOL...I take chicken broth, garlic, tuna in water,
dump the whole thing in a pot....chop canned or frozen carrots, green beans, broccoli and toss in some brown rice to keep it together. I then mix this in with seared steak or ground beef or one of two types of canned food. I guess I'm hiding the veggies but so far so good....I suspect the tuna fish covers the taste of the veggies....Hope it works for you..Good luck |

Hi there. I find if I cook some carrots, a potato, etc in with the meat, the vegies become infused with the broth and Waldo will eat it right down. If I don't do that, he will eat everything BUT the veggies. Also, try some green supplement. I use Biopreparation BioPreparation for Pets which gives the dogs things they will be missing with strictly a meat diet. Maybe you can out fox the Foxy!
Good Luck, Kate |

Hi Karen
What I do is put the veggies and fruit in the food processor (or blender) so they are really ground up and pureed and then mix them with the meat. I've also been told that the veggies and fruit are much more easily and effectively digested into the system when pureed, rather than in chunks. |
