It's so funny you brought this up. I was looking at the pictures of us with Dante and his memorial corner with his ashes and was missing him badly last night. My new friend Hannah came up to me and sat and kept offering her front leg to shake her hand, but she does not know that trick. Dante used to always come and start hitting us with that leg because he wanted to "shake" and show off the tricks he knew. IF you werent paying attention, you would have a paw on your lap repeatedly because when Dante wanted to shake, you were going to shake. Haha. Well, Hannah kept "shaking" last night. Today I tried to get her to do it and she didn't, juut looked at me like "what the heck do you want me to do here?"

There are signs of our dear friends everywhere, if we just look for them. We know we did the best for them that we could, and they knew it.

Wink

Yes, the faces of our friends are all around us and there are signs that they remain forever with us.

I was lighting Benny's special candle the other night and Shadow wanted me to pick him up. When I did he leaned over to watch the flame and I pointed to Benny's picture and told him all about Ben. Shadow looked directly in my face, which he always does (most dogs look away when you try to look directly at them, but Shadow has always looked right into our eyes) and then he leaned over and kissed me. It was as if he understood what I was saying, and letting me know he now loved me too. When I put him down he got into Benny's bed and went to sleep.

These friends share our hearts and our lives and when they leave us, they are still very much a part of us. To give that kind of love to another is never a "mistake." 'To love and be loved in return is a necessary part of life.'

Thanks for sharing Jeff & TJ.

Blessings,
Joanne & Shaodw
