Dear Friends,
I know you are all going through your own personal difficulties and are focused on your own dog and the "cancer journey" but I also know you all have compassion and we here are like one big family helping each other cope, caring about each other. Our friend Debbie has written some wonderful posts and she lost her beloved Missy to cancer a few months ago. Now she is hurting for a different reason, her beloved, almost 11 year old Golden Retriever Jack has been missing for 3 weeks. It seems that Jack went on an adventure with his brother Toby and only Toby returned and is very sad. Debbie had closure when Missy died, because she was able to say "goodbye" and to make the final terrible decision which many of us know is so very hard to make. However she feels that she was not there when Jack needed her the most. She is feeling guilt over the whole situation and it is NOT her fault. Jack and Toby escaped to the fields they so loved to explore and for some unknown reason Jack never came home. The "unknown" is more heartbreaking than when we KNOW and we are able to do something. Debbie loved this dog with all her heart and like her other dogs she gave unconditional love, the best food, the best care and yes, she gave them FREEDOM to explore and enjoy their lives. They usually returned home after an adventure, but Toby came home alone! Please include Debbie and Jack in your prayers and hopefully she will find some peace in the days ahead. Thank you. Blessings, Joanne |

Prayers out for Debbie and Jack and Toby. Whatever happens/happened with Jack, he lived the life he loved. You can't give more than that to a dog.
We all feel, the first few weeks, that we didnt do enough, what if?? But as you go on in this journey Debbie, you will have release. You gave your dog a wonderful life with his buddies and his fields and lots of love. All dogs should be so lucky. Jack knows he was loved. TJ |
