Red face Another Month is Starting

Dear Friends,

Just a note from me to you to wish you continuing comfort and moments of peace as we enter another month without our special and beloved companions.

For some of us, we are fast approaching a year since we lost our best friends and said goodbye for the final time. I know, for me, that day of remembrance will be just as fresh and difficult as those final moments with my Benny.

For others, your loss is much more recent and more painful and I hope with each day, you are managing to find happiness in the "good memories."

"A good dog never dies. He always stays. He walks besides you on crisp autumn days when frost is on the fields and winter's drawing near. His head is within our hand in his old way."

I say a prayer for all those companions and for you wonderful people who loved them with all your heart. I light a candle each night for us all.

Important to let you know that I am thinking about you and the journey we have taken together.

Thank you for being my friends and helping me get through one of the toughest journeys of my life.

"I know God would never give me something that I could not handle. I just wish he didn't trust me so much."

(Mother Theresa)

Blessings,
Joanne

Joanne, as usual another beautifully written piece from you.

You are right, it is another month starting, another month to count down since we have lost our furry ones, terrible isnt it to think we sit and count the months since we were last together.

The start of this month for me appears like it is forever going to be etched in my memory. My boy Jack, loves to roam as I think I have mentioned before, and he runs into the back paddocks whenever he gets the opportunity, along with Toby, and when she was with us, Missy. Whenver they run off I spend hours and hours calling and looking, but have never managed to find them, as we are talking thousand of acres of treed bush area, some cleared farm land and sand quarries. A real assortment of terrain. Everytime they have returned, at all hours of the day or night, sometimes a few hours later, sometimes days later, up to a week once. On that ocassion I was almost physically ill with worry. On Friday at about five thirty in the evening Jack and Toby took the opportunity and ran for their lives through the paddocks, even though we were calling and chasing them, they wouldnt stop.

Toby returned at 5.30 am on Saturday morning, Jack has not returned yet. I have searched, walked, rode motorbikes, recruited others to do the same, and still no sign. I have covered so much area that I dont know where else to look for him. We had extremely hot weather here over the weekend and I have all but lost hope that he is going to return this time. He is ten and a half, and has a spinal issue that gives him trouble getting up at times. I am heartbroken and cant stop crying and just dont want to believe that he may not return this time. So please if everyone here can say a prayer for him I would really appreciate it. I know things arent looking promising, but there may just be a little bit of hope left. It is just too much pain to loose two of them within seven months.

Wink Jack

Dear Debbie,

Don't give up HOPE. I think with all the prayers you will see Jack again. I am glad to see you posting again and glad you thought of coming here.

I will light my candle and Jack will be included in my prayers tonight just as I pray for all our precious puppies , some with us, some gone on ahead.

<<Hugs>>

Hi All

Thanks for your thoughts and positive replies. Joanne the first place I thought of coming was here, as I knew that people would understand and show support and just maybe having that support might make a difference. I still come here every second day, I just dont post unless I think I have something to say that might help, normally I just read the posts and have a cry, as it is so sad to hear of everyones pain when there loved pets are ill.

Unfortunately I dont have any good news to report, there is still no sign of Jack. But from reading what you have all said, maybe there still is hope, and maybe my prayers will be answered. I will let you all know. Please keep Jack in your thoughts, and pray he returns.

I would just like to thank everyone here that said prayers and offered support for Jack, but unfortunately it appears that our prayers have gone unanswered this time. Jack has not returned and now it is obvious that he will not be coming back. The sadness and devastation I feel can not be put into words. As most of you know losing one of our beloved furry family to cancer is unbearable, but this feeling of not knowing what happened to him, and not being there when it happened is soul destroying. I try to make myself smile by thinking of him and Missy, both now together at the Rainbow Bridge, and in time it might help a little. Two in nine months is just unthinkable. My heart is truly broken now.

I wont go on as I will make everyone here miserable also, but I thought you would want to know how it turned out and also I just wanted to say thanks as it really helps a little when you have people that understand. I hope you are all well and coping with your own loss a little better every day.
