Default thank you all

I cannot express my thanks enough to all of you kind people. Although I cry my eyes out over all the posts, it really does help knowing you have these kind strangers who know exactly how you feel and offering support.
Last night my husband and I looked through many many pictures. And I did not cry once. It made me feel uplifted to reflect on an extremely happy dog's life. And so may stories about her! And she did have so much love and so much fun.
I am struggling with always thinking of her last day too- that's the hardest part. Thinking of her lying by the door, sad. And then saying good bye.
My sister came to be with us today as Dale had to go back to work. He said he could have cried all day. It's just so very very difficult.
Here is a poem I actually wrote last week. It made me fall to pieces yet somehow prepare me as well:

She's gone to a better place now...
A place with no fear, no sickness.
A place where the sun shines hot and bright
on her furry back everyday.

A place with no fences, no leashes,
and friendly faces everywhere.

She runs free in that sun,
and remembers all of you-

How you took her in and loved her
more than she ever thought she deserved.

"I'll love you forever," she says, "and
thanks for all of the memories...

till we meet again..."

That was beautiful. I am so glad you are at a place where you can smile and remember through your pain. It gives me hope. I wondered if I would just cry every day after he goes.
God Bless and take it one day at a time.

Wink Josie

Dear Friend,
I too am so happy that you can smile remembering the wonderful times with your beloved puppy. She did have a happy life and lived every moment with JOY.Dogs stay like children all their lives and I guess that is why we are so connected to them. They live to please and they never let us down as we humans let each other down. Try and smile through your tears and know that you made the right decision at the right time.
Your poem is just lovely and a wonderful tribute to a wonderful friend.

Blessings & Hugs,
Joanne & Puppy Shadow
