Unhappy Vincenzo is gone

I just wanted to let you know that my beloved Vincenzo is gone. His cancer took him away from us on Monday. He fought hard and I fought hard, but we couldn't beat it. About a month ago Vinny started showing symptoms that the cancer had gone to his brain. The tumor in his chest was gone, but we had no idea it was in his brain until he "crashed" from the symptoms. He passed-on at home with me, our other dogs, my daughter, and her boyfriend there. He was not in pain that we could tell. He was out in the yard, running with his brothers one week ago and gone exactly one week later. We were able to give Vinny the best quality life during the time of his chemo treatment and I'm very thankful for that borrowed time even though it was short.

He has already given me a sign that he is ok and not too far away, though in a different form now. Our love and his spirit transcend all boundaries.

Run free and healthy at the Rainbow Bridge my love. I'll wait patiently until I can see you again.

Angie

Wink Vincenzo

My Dear Angie,
Prayers go out to you at this very sorrowful time. You did all that you could do for as long as you could do it. Good that you have a recent memory of Vinny running with his other fur brothers. God chose to take Vincenzo and to not let him have any pain which is a really GOOD THING!
Yes, he is in a place free from pain, in a different form but forever in youur heart and in your memories.

God Bless My Friend,

Blessings,
Joanne & Puppy Shadow

A LOAN FROM GOD

God promised at the birth of time, a special friend to give,
his time on earth is short, he said, so love him while he
lives. It may be six or seven years, or twelve or then
sixteen, but will you, till I call him back, take care of him for
me? A wagging tail and cold wet nose, and silken velvet
ears, a heart as big as all outdoors, to love you through the
years. His puppy ways will gladden you, and antics bring a
smile, as guardian or friend he will, be loyal all the while.
He'll bring his charms to grace your life, and though his stay
be brief, when he's gone the memories, are solace for your
grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth
return, but lessons only a dog can teach, I want you each
to learn. Whatever love you give to him, returns in triple
measure, follow his lead and gain a life, brim full of simple
pleasure. Enjoy each day as it comes, allow your heart to
guide, be loyal and steadfast in love, as the dog there by
your side. Now will you give him all your love, nor think the
labor vain, nor hate me when I come to call, to take him
back again? I fancy each of us would say, "Dear Lord, thy
will be done, for all the joy this day shall bring, the risk of
grief we'll run." "We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love
him while we may, and for the happiness we've known,
forever grateful stay." "But shall the angels call for him,
much sooner than we've planned, we'll brave the bitter grief
that comes, and try to understand."

Thank you, everyone for your condolences. We are coping and adjusting. My dog, Reno, grieved also, but he is adjusting as well.

This is the Vinny(red) and Reno(chocolate). They were always "joined at the hip".
