Default Chemo for Hemangiosarcoma advice

Does someone have experience with this? My vet is suggesting Mastitinib for my 6 1/2 year old Aussie on a clinical trial or Doxirubicin?? Please advise I want to explore alternative treatment as well. Anyone know of a good Homeopathic Vet I live 35 miles NW of Chicago?

They are on the American Holistic Veterinary medicine directory. That's where I found our holistic vet and he is wonderful. It's certainly helpful for a 2nd opinion and another point of view, then you can make your mind up what fits you and your pet the best.
Good luck and NEVER give up hope.

Wink Bobbie and Tiger

Good luck today Bobbie,
Hope is what helps us through this "cancer journey" with our beloved pets and without it we would surely collapse under the weight of sorrow.

BLESSINGS,
Joanne & Puppy Shadow

What hope means

Hope is bright shining light which keeps darkness at bay
Hope is the gentle cold breeze on a hot summer day

Hope is to remain positive when going gets tough
Hope is seeking more when others think you had enough

Hope is dreaming of tomorrow
Hope is simmering under sorrow

Hope is sparkles when tears in our eyes
Hope is a beautiful thing & beautiful things never dies

What hope means

Hope is as light as a feather
Hope keeps all of us together

Hope is ubiquitous and free of cost
hope is the last thing ever lost.....

Default Hemangiosarcoma & Chemo for Tanner

Hello,
Today Tanner had his third treatment for hemangiosarcoma. He is receiving radiation and chemo treatments of vincristine and doxorubicin. so far he has suffered no ill effects. VRCC in Denver will treat him with doxorubicin one more time next week and I guess that's it. So far the tumor does not appear to have shrunk however it is softer to touch. It is highly unlikely the tumor will shrink enough for surgery. Once again I am on that emotional rollercoaster. I pursue all of these treatments looking for a miracle and then I get a hard case of reality reminding me that Tanner will soon be leaving me
The Oncologist will suggest Chemo treatments after next week but it is only to try and slow down the tumor growth. I hear many speak of remission. How do they determine this? Is it through an aspirate?
How will I know if my dog is in pain? He has always been good at masking any discomfort.
I have to study and decide what treatment will come next in 2 weeks between Cytoxan, Piroxicam, Dermamax, Rimadyl, or Doxycycline. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly apprciated. Thanks,Wendy

About knowing when your dog is in pain, they will not eat and/or rapid shallow breathing. I think you'll know.

This maybe a hard moment for you but that's life. We have to undergo some painful experience. Anyway, going to your question, it is better if you will personally check on the pros and cons of the said medication.
