Hi...my 4 yr old bullmastiff Polly was diagnosed with lymphoma last month. We noticed swollen glands and immediately took her to vet. She is on the wisconsin protocol and is having her 4th chemo treatment tomorrow. She has lost lots of weight but really has no other side effects. I have changed her diet (she is getting chicken, cooked ground turkey, cottage cheese, steam broccoli and fish). I have her on k-9 immunity supplements and sockeye salmon oil pills and just checked out the website for herbal treatments. I pray that we are doing all we can to keep this special dog with us for a long long time. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Krist |

Hi Just logged on for the 1st time in about 8 weeks , so have missed quite a bit very sorry to read about your doggie having this dreadful condition we will keep you and all other sufferers & owners in our thoughts.
Our dog Jackson a 8 yr old Rottie was diagnosed last June 13 2008 with lymphoma , he went through his Chemo Ok , as you can see from my previous post , He is still going well 13months later , The 1 thing that we did not do was change anything we just keep him on his normal dry food with fish oil tablets ., We don't know if this was the secret to his long remission or not, but it seems to be working , the last time he saw his vet wasweeks ago , They scanned him , and found some 2 very tiny nodules on his spleen , His bloods OK as was everything else , but they have said that if Jackson was a Normal Non Cancer dog they would not worry, as this is quite common in older dogs so next week he goes back to have another scan and they will sedate him to get a sample of the nodule then test it to see what is happening in our Big Boy The one thing we do is to keep believing theat he will beat this horrible thing NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP Best Wishes JOhn & Roz |

My Dear Friend,
You are so right to never give up HOPE! It is one thing we can hold onto during this dreadful journey. It was a combination of good nutrition, good supplements, support from a dear friend who was helping us the entire journey of several months and the kindness and compassion of all the people here as well as HOPE that got us through the journey with our beloved Benny. He lost his battle in the end, but every day his smile and his energy gave us HOPE that he would be okay. We know he is safe and well again and we had him much longer than predicted. "Nobody can fully understand the meaning of love unless he's owned a dog. A dog can show you more honest affection with a flick of his tail than a man can gather through a lifetime of handshakes." God Bless You. Joanne & Shadow Last edited by Benpaws; 07-24-2009 at 06:38 AM. |

Dear Friend,
One of Benny's supplements was 1000 mg fish oil capsules which we put in a bit of liverwurst. You can add it directly to the food. Benny weighed about 28 pounds at the time. Shadow, our 5 month old puppy gets 1000 mg fish oil capsule every other day placed directly into his food. He weighs 14 pounds. Hope this helps. God Bless You, Joanne |
