hi My dog Jackson who is only 7 , was found to have lymphoma in June this year , he was not really ill at the time, but had lumps in his Throat , I knew the signs as our Boxer Mutley had has had 17 weeks of chemo , Only a bit down once , most of the time he was his normal mad self , He has now finish his course and is in full remission at the moment we have been very lucky with him. He has to go to the vets every other week for check ups & sees him oncologist once a month.
So any one else going through this awful time there is always hope I am new to this forum so might not be very god at explaining , got to go now Jack is barking at the postman |

I am in a very similar situation as you, with my 6 yr old rottie Maximus. Diagnosed end of June and we just finished with his chemo treatments last week. He seems to being handling it well, thankfully.
Just wanted to wish you continued good luck with your boy's health

Thanks for reading about Jackson , had a Great Christmas with Rocko our other Rottie , Jacko had a checkup early december & is still in full remission , he has to go back on 12th Jan 09 for a full checkup which includes Blood Work and Heart monitor as the Doxorubicin affected his heart. so he could only have 1 dose.
We lost Our GSD Abi [12] about 8 weeks ago through canc, So we did think about her a lot and visited her grave and layed a wreath, so last year was tough year for our animals as Rocko was ill to , but he is Ok now , I dont know if any body in the UK looks at these postings ,but if you do, Check out VRCC as in my opinion they are the best in dealing with cancer in animals Good luck to every one out there I hope 2009 is better than 2008 for all of our pet Last edited by jjwgaskets; 12-29-2008 at 02:47 AM. We just found out that our Rottie, Maggie, has lymphoma also. We have started chemo with pills at home, and it is working amazing! I cannot tell that any difference in her and she is so happy! Her lymph nodes in her throat have completely went down to where I cannot feel them anymore!

Good luck to each of you. I am glad that Maggie is doing well on her treatments and God willing you will have her for a long time to love.
Glad to hear that Maximus is doing well too Trish and my candles are lit each night for Maximus and all the other dogs here and those who have passed on. Glad you have joined this forum and hope that Jackson continues to stay in remission FOREVER. Sorry about 2008 which was indeed a sad year for you. God Bless in 2009. You have come to a good place to find hope and comfort from these amazing people. Hugs, Joanne & Benny |

I'm so happy for you that Jackson is doing great! Good to hear as my boy's oncologist has mentioned that he finds rotties often do not hold remission as long as some other breeds. You're so right - never give up hope (hough hard to do some days) he's beating the odds and you get more time to enjoy each other.
very happy for you! Sheflin - how is Maggie doing?? |

Hi everyone Jackson is Back , we had a little PC trouble so have been a little quite of late , well since I last posted Jack came out of remission after 14 months , he was able tro have another course whih has lasted about 15 weeks , this time the cancer was in his spleen [not good] but he has his last chemo on Friday and guess what he is in full remiision again that means we have had him for an extra 18 months he seem to be very well as he plays with his various snow man every night for at least 30 mins
My wife and I are very Lucky tohave him about he is such a brave boy , So to anybody out there there is always hope never give up believing |
