Hi All:
Has anyone given their dog grape seed to help fight leukemia. Apparently it makes the cancer cells kill each other. I have had Kira on these (along with her new diet). Last Tuesday Kira had her follow up at the vet (blood analysis). Things are slightly better apparently due to the prednisone but her red cells went down again slightly. The vet is so surprised she is looking so good and healthy and still going. Originally she was given a week at the most. Now we are at six weeks and she is still bright eyes and wants to play ball all the time and swim. I know there is no cure for ALL (acute leukemia) so we decided not to go through the chemo. Her days were numbered and we wanted the most good days for her. The vet burst my bubble saying she is dying, which I do know, but I am still hopeful some miracle may happen. Has anyone used the grape seed for acute leukemia? Sheila and Kira |

Dear Sheila,
I don't know anything about grape seed oil but did read articles which show that it can cut down on the cancer cells in patients with leukemia. If it is working for you and Kira is doing better, then I would advise you to continue with it. At this point you want to keep her as free from pain and difficulty as possible and anything which helps is a good thing. Just take one moment at a time and enjoy the moments when Kira is doing well. This is a terrible journey. Stay positive, hugs to Kira and have a peaceful holiday. Blessings, Joanne & Shadow |
