Our 6 year old schnauzer Benny has had a recurrence of Mast Cell Tumour after a remission of almost a year. He is presently eating CANINE LIFE muffins (cancer formula) which I purchase through Bark & Fitz. These muffins are filled with blueberries, turmeric and all kinds of other antioxidants and he loves them. Besides thisi he gets one ounce of ESSIAC tea every morning and then COLD PRESSED COTTAGE CHEESE with FLAXSEED oil and steamed broccoli for his breakfast. In his evening meal he gets the MUFFIN, broccoli, carrots or sweet potatoes or pumpkin and one WILD SALMON capsule, one ALFALFA tablet, ARTEMISININ, CO-Q10, and MODIFIED CITRUS PECTIN. Often we add chicken livers or salmon or grilled chicken with TURMERIC to his evening meal and he licks his plate clean every night.
I also make him his own treats and have a great recipe for KOMBU CANDY which he loves. It is a combination of KOMBU (a Japanese SEAWEED) ,RAW HONEY and FILTERED WATER and ground ALMONDS. We are fortunate to have a WHOLE FOODS store in Oakville, ON., CANADA where we live and I can purchase all these ingredients here as well as organic vegetables and free range meats.
Our vet unfortunately is not helping us with anything and sent us home from our last visit with NO HOPE and no suggestions as to what we can do for Benny. However, my contact in British Columbia who lost her 6 year old Golden Retriever to lymphoma in 2001 has dedicated her life to helping others who have dogs with cancer. She is an angel to me and has sent me so much valuable information. I spent many days researching MCT and trying to find some help for Benny because we are not ready to say goodbye to him. Ted was the first to help me and I downloaded his wonderful book and then I met Suzi who is in CANADA and used to live very close to where I am living now. Thank God for the internet.
Each day with Benny is another good day and I thank God for this little guy who has made our lives so much richer for being part of our family.

Oh my goodness! What a fantastic job you are doing! I am so impressed. I'm sure all these dietary improvements have helped Benpaws fight the cancer and feel better. I'm gonna stay tuned to see if anyone can improve on what you are doing. Lucky Benpaws. God bless him.

Thank you Kate,
I don't know if what we are doing will work but at least we are trying every day. I too look forward to reading what others are finding helpful.
I failed to mention that we also give him a very small amount of WHEAT GRASS JUICE which we put in an eyedropper and add to his food. If you use this be VERY CAUTIOUS to give a very small amount as it can cause diarrhea and stomach upset. We also add crushed garlic sometimes, shitake mushrooms which I cook in a small amount of olive oil and organic canned tomatoes.
God Bless you.

Joanne,
My golden retriever was diagnosed with Lymphoma this past week and I was wondering if your friend would be open to speaking/emailing me regarding things she may have learned in her dog's struggle with Lymphoma? I've already started my dog Bunker on some supplements to help boost his immune system and I have an appt with a holistic vet this coming Wed. Please let me know if this would be a possibility because I could use all the helpful advice I can get at this point.

Thank you,

Dawn

I used 1000 mg concentrated fish oil capsules for my Parker 2x daily. He lasted 30 months in remission. I also never used Prednisone once he started on his treatments. He was a golden retriever mix.

Thumbs up Re: BUNKER

Hi Dawn,
I just sent you a private message re: Bunker's Lymphoma and your request for the email address of my friend. Please let me know if you got the message. All the best and good luck. Have HOPE. There is always hope as long as there is LIFE.

You are obviously doing all of your homework and I have just one suggestion. To gain the maximum benefit from Benny's diet I highly recommend the following product. It is called "Digestive Support for Dogs" and it comes in tablets that even a picky dog will eat. I purchased it at Wal-Mart but have also seen it offered at most on-line pet supply stores. The cost is not high and I KNOW it works. Although I lost Crystal on 8/14/08, I am sure this product, along with her nutritional regimen is what gave her the extra time when I really should have lost her on 6/13/08 due to one of her spleen-bleed episodes.

Default nose cancer

My bassett, Sadie has a cancer in her nose. We have been fighting it for over a year. She is 14 years old and I couldn't bear the thought of putting her through chemo when the vet said there wasn't much hope. Anyone out there who is also fighting nose cancer, I would appreciate any help you could give. Right now, she seems to be doing well although her nose looks like one huge piece of raw meat.
