Welcome Cindy,
I am very sorry to hear about Boise, but you have made a decision which no doubt is right for you and for Boise. Take lots of pictures and give lots of hugs. Yes, our dogs do understand our moods and they "live happily in each moment" which we should do as well. I know from experience how difficult this is when your best friend has been diagnosed with cancer.
The people here are just awesome and you will get much comfort and support and help if you have need.
It would be our hope that each dog with cancer would just "die of old age" and not this hideous disease.
