Clancey was diagnosed with a nasal tumor this week, the technical name is adenocarcinomas and after looking at the C.T. scan the radiologist has determined that the tumor is extending into the brain and eye socket as well as crossing over to the other nostril. The first indication I had that anything was wrong was about a month ago when I took him to the vet because he seemed tired. Shortly after walking into the vets office, his nose started bleeding. If only I had known something was wrong sooner
maybe we would have more options now.
I am heartbroken, this boy has been through so much and then to have this happen....
Clancey was found in downtown Dallas and most likely, would not have survived another day if not for the kindness of a woman who found him and called me to see if I could help. (I am involved in animal rescue here in Dallas). Clancey has lived with my family these past 4 years and you could not ask for a better dog.

About Clancey
This boy weighed in at 50 pounds the day he was found, he now weighs 98 lbs. He had apparently escaped from an enclosure of some kind as he had nearly competely worn down his front teeth and as you can see from this picture, had done major damage to his nose. On top of this, he had heartworms which had to be treated. Clancey is a survivor and if anyone can beat this cancer, he can.
I have an appointment with an oncologist on Monday where I hope to find out what to expect over the next few weeks and to see if there is any chance that radiation therapy would offer Clancey a reprieve.
